Why use Cambridge Assessment Placement test?

30 - 40 minutes (CEFR)

Over fifty years ago, the University of Cambridge developed a learning method aimed at supporting foreign students in reaching the desired English level and ensuring that students across the globe can actively participate in lectures and achieve high educational standards for non-native speakers.

Over the years, Cambridge Assessment's language division has further developed their method and transformed from paper-based testing to a fully online and adaptive test platform. This adaptive approach means that your answers direct the platform to either increase or decrease the difficulty level to match your abilities. This ensures an accurate score and determination of your current English level.

European framework to determine your language level

The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is the recognized and widely used scheme for describing and indicating proper language proficiency.

Basic User

A1 / A2

Independent User

B1 / B2

Proficient User

C1 / C2

CEFR organizes language proficiency into six levels, A1 to C2, which can be regrouped into three broad levels: Basic User, Independent User and Proficient User, and can be further subdivided according to the needs of the local context. The levels are defined through 'can-do' descriptions.
